My Port of Peace

Beth Ferguson, December 31, 2010

Changes are afoot … some clearly defined … others identified by a sense of restlessness.  In the midst of the adventure there is a calm assurance that God is my port of peace.  Tonight I lean in to him … desiring to follow closely.

“Now cometh all ye that been y-brought
In bonds full of busy bitterness,
Of earthly lusts abiding in your thought!
Here is the rest from all you business,
Here is the port of peace and restfulness
To them that stand in storms and disease,
Refuge overt to wretches in distress,
And all comfort from mischief and misease.”
written by John Walton, 1410

It is in the compelling zest of high adventure and of victory, and in creative action, that man finds his supreme joys.   ~~Antoine De Saint-Exupery
