“The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.” ~~ R. W. Emerson
Thank you, Lord, for this new day.
I love the gift of color … the greens, blues on my walls are comforting – they are “home.” The neutral woodsy browns outside my windows are calming. The contrast between the walls and the landscape stand out in the windows and yet there is a sense of flow … of oneness.
I haven’t forgotten black and white television. Not many months ago I watched a very old movie in black and white. While the story was good, albeit a bit slow, the lack of color was significant. I’m thankful for the technology that added color to our entertainment!
Can you imagine a world with no color … everything in shades of black, gray, white. This morning I see birds outside my window … they are decked out in reds, oranges, blues, and browns. I’m glad God spoke color into his creation.
Today I look for color in my world … and I’m grateful … grateful for a myriad of hues in both God’s creation and the objects man has made. I’m grateful for sight … for the ability to distinguish between shades of color … and the ability to appreciate the varying tones.
An old hymn says ... Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth thou hast for me; place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free. May we see what He sees today in full living color!
