Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

crunchy, mildly sweet

Beth Ferguson, January 11, 2011

“You cannot be grateful and unhappy at the same time.”  ~~ Unknown

I am so blessed!  It’s fun to identify just a few things each day for which to be grateful … I love looking at the simple things through the lens of thanksgiving.  God is so good to me.

I started my day with cereal.  I’m thankful for crunchy, mildly sweet “O’s” in a little bit of milk.  I like them even better now that I’ve discovered almond milk.  Cereal is an easy breakfast and reasonably healthy snack.

It’s day 2 of a snowy winter wonderland.  Very little snow melted today and temperatures are not expected to rise into the 30’s tomorrow.  I’m grateful for the afghan I keep on my lap.  It’s old, lightweight, doesn’t require special care.

Although we had a snow day at school today, I went in to the office.  I’m thankful for alone time at work today.  A friend posted an interesting link about management that prompted thinking about success factors.  What are success factors in teaching?  Quiet time for thinking is a special blessing.

Thank you!
