CHRISTOS ANESTI, ALITHOS ANESTI!
Christ is risen, Truly He is risen!
Our living hope
Today, Easter, we celebrate the resurrection. Through Jesus’ resurrection, we have a living hope. Living hope is at work in us, transforming us day by day to be like our risen Savior.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead-
1 Peter 1:3 NIV
The price has been paid
Resurrection Sunday grows sweeter somehow with the passing of years. His love is richer, deeper, fuller, sweeter — more precious as the days go by! We shout for joy today, sing with gusto, “Up from the grave, He arose!” He has paid the price to set us free!
“Pay attention … I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you.
Isaiah 44:21 – 23 NLT
I have swept away your sins like a cloud.
I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist.
Oh, return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free.”
Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done this wondrous thing.
Shout for joy, O depths of the earth!
Break into song, O mountains and forests and every tree!
Our celebration
I know that my Redeemer lives!
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead;
he lives, my ever-living head!He lives triumphant from the grave;
he lives eternally to save;
he lives all-glorious in the sky;
he lives exalted there on high.He lives to bless me with his love;
he lives to plead for me above;
he lives my hungry soul to feed;
he lives to help in time of need.He lives to grant me rich supply;
he lives to guide me with his eye;
he lives to comfort me when faint;
he lives to hear my soul’s complaint.He lives to silence all my fears;
he lives to wipe away my tears;
he lives to calm my troubled heart;
he lives all blessings to impart.He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly friend;
he lives and loves me to the end;
he lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing;
he lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.He lives and grants me daily breath;
he lives, and I shall conquer death;
he lives my mansion to prepare;
he lives to bring me safely there.He lives, all glory to his name!
Samuel Medley, 1775
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
