In Stillness the Dancing

Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

my hope is built …

Beth Ferguson, October 14, 2012June 19, 2023

Sermon Notes!

Our pastor preached from 1 Peter 3:15 – 16 today.  He was wrapping up a series on key values of the church.

Capturing the key words in the sermon today speaks volumes!

How do Christians influence an indifferent culture?

  1. Develop a dynamic relationship with the living Christ through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with believers.
  2. Demonstrate confidence in God’s care; we are unshaken, anchored, held by His right hand.
  3. Be ready to explain simply the reason for hope.
  4. Live and speak with gentleness and respect.

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Because … I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. (2 Timothy 1:12)
