More About Jesus Would I Know

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
    to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
    so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
    the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Come, descendants of Jacob,
    let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Isaiah 2: 3, 5

When we are in God’s presence, He teaches us.
He teaches us His ways – His ways are light.
His teaching allows us to walk … to walk in his paths, in His light.

Advent is a season for longing … longing for God’s presence.
Advent is a season for waiting … waiting for the light of His presence.
Advent is a season for hope … the hope of His companionship!

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are God my Savior,
    and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
    for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
    for you, Lord, are good.
Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
    and teaches them his way.

Psalm 25:4 – 9
Quote by Henrietta C. Mears

I’m thankful for the invitation of Jesus, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:29-30).

As we learn from Him,
we learn His ways,
walk in His light,
experience His rest!

More about Jesus would I know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fullness see,
More of His love who died for me.

More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me.

More about Jesus, in His Word,
Holding communion with my Lord;
Hearing His voice in every line,
Making each faithful saying mine.

More about Jesus on His throne,
Riches in glory all His own;
More of His kingdom’s sure increase;
More of His coming, Prince of Peace.

E. E. Hewitt, 1887
