Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

luminescence

Beth Ferguson, July 7, 2009

Jesus said, “I AM the Light of the World!”

Overwhelming night
Stumbling, a glimmer beckons
Light of the world … not
Changing like shifting shadows
All goodness, righteousness, truth!

The lamb, the lamp, shines
Called out of darkness, always
Walking by His light
Morning star, rising, my heart
Abundant luminescence!
~ Original, 2009

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Live as children of light! ~ Ephesians 5:8

It only takes a spark,
To get a fire going.
And soon all those around,
Can warm up it it’s glowing.

That’s how it is with God’s love,
Once you’ve experienced it,
It’s fresh like spring, you want to sing,
You want to pass it on.
