Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

a legacy not to be forgotten

Beth Ferguson, May 12, 2013May 12, 2013

My Mom“Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers, and sisters, aunts and cousins, but only one mother in the whole world.”  ~~Kate Douglas Wiggin

I have so much for which to be thankful!

My mom went home to heaven about 3 years ago.  She was a wonderful woman … full of laughter, sometimes mischief, and much love.  She was particularly tenderhearted … she especially loved children!

Mom enjoyed cooking … good food … family dinners.  For years – my sisters, our families, our parents have joined together almost weekly in celebration of family!  I cherish her recipes, love to fix her favorite foods, think of her often when I’m in the kitchen!

Mom was also smart … generous … spirited.  She loved God.  I’m grateful for her example in prayer, in testimony to God’s grace, and in worship.

I am grateful for her life … and her continued influence today.  She leaves a legacy not to be forgotten!

“No influence is so powerful as that of the mother.” ~~Sarah Josepha Hale
