In Stillness the Dancing

Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

fearfully and wonderfully made

Beth Ferguson, July 30, 2009

A song is running through my mind …

Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe.

A baby was born tonight … our first grandchild … what more needs to be said!

I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray, someone will come
To show the way
I believe, I believe

I believe above a storm the smallest prayer
Can still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
Hears every word

Every time I hear a new born baby cry,
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why, I believe

For you created Colin’s inmost being; you knit him together in his mother’s womb.  I praise you because he is fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well!

I grew up hearing this song as a solo in church. It brings back the sweetest most joyful memories. Thanks for sharing your heart and thoughts. I am always moved.
