In Stillness the Dancing

Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

a song in our hearts!

Beth Ferguson, November 13, 2012November 12, 2020

Today I sang with the radio on the way to work.  Music is such a blessing – today I am grateful for it!

Young Dylan loves to wave his hands and bounce to tunes.  Master Colin learned Dem Bones for Halloween … and he just loves “dem dancing bones!”  Ron puts on smooth jazz in the late afternoon … love the CD, Jazz for the Literary Mind.  Then there is the deep cello of Yo Yo Ma, Willie Nelson‘s country … and yes, worship music that leads me to the throne of grace!  I can imagine God smiling as we sing … not laughing at our sour notes or poor rhythm, but smiling because he puts a song in our hearts!

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.  (Psalm 98:4 – 6)
