Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

ordinary moments rich with the divine

Beth Ferguson, February 14, 2009

Hmmmmm, Saturday mornings … slow, quiet, the sizzle of sausage, creating the grocery list, the planning of how to use a few free hours … these ordinary moments are rich with the divine …

One sentence in the book I’m reading by Anne Lamott jumped out at me this morning … “Another secret is that laughter is carbonated holiness.”

It’s bubbling, it’s bubbling, it’s bubbling in my soul,
I”m singing and laughing since Jesus made me whole.
Folks don’t understand it; I just can’t keep it quiet,
It’s bubbling, bubbling, bubbling …

And may it be so today … that the joy and holiness in the ordinary will bubble over …
