Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

let me ne’er forget!

Beth Ferguson, November 6, 2012January 8, 2021

Today is election day.  I am not one to discuss my political views online.  In fact I’m put off by those who go on and on about one candidate or the other or one issue over another.  Today I really feel like I am caught between a rock and hard place … I wish there were other folks to choose from.  And yet … today I am thankful for the right and privilege to vote.  It is an awesome responsibility!

As I ponder how to vote today, I hear this song … This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.

I’m voting and taking comfort that God is the ruler yet!

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  (1 Timothy 2:2)
