In Stillness the Dancing

Connecting life, scripture, and poetry

it is he

Beth Ferguson, June 16, 2009

For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.  He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. ~ Proverbs 2:6-8

Sheltered from the rain
I sit, rocking, writing
Sorting out, working through the pain
Inner thoughts warring, fighting

Head throbbing
Prayers rising

Like David of old
I say to my soul
Oh soul, why do you persist
My heart and mind must insist

Just who is in charge here
Why do you give in to fear?
You who are free …
Whose claim is victory …
Yield, bow low!
The Lord it is he
Who says what is so!
~ Original, 2009

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
